We are back from a very quick visit to see my daughter’s new home and, of course, to see my sweet grandson. We had a great time, and it was great to get away, even if it was only for a couple of days. Here is his updated 10 month pic:
I wasn’t sure if I needed to food shop when I got back, but thankfully, after looking at what I still have in my freezer and pantry, I have plenty of stuff to make this week’s menu. If I do go to the grocery store, it will just be for fresh produce.
Tuesday: Breakfast for dinner: Pancakes, waffles, eggs and bacon, orange juice and watermelon
Wednesday: Barbecued Chicken, macaroni salad, veggies
Thursday: Grilled pork chops, baked potatoes, tossed salad
Friday: Leftovers. (This worked out very well last week, as there was enough leftovers from Monday - Thursday’s meals to make another meal for each of us. I plan on doing it again.)
Saturday: Cheeseburgers, fruit salad, green beans and french fries
Sunday: Eating at my daughter’s house to celebrate my future son-in-law’s birthday! (Woo hoo! I don’t have to cook! )
I’m hoping I can make next week’s meals from my stash too. So far this month, I’ve spent $39.60 on groceries, and it would be nice to keep it low to make up for my overspending in July. I
think know I can do it.
